Emmlink: The College LMS, Portal & Intranet

What is a Learning Management System?

A LMS is a password protected area online, set up by an organisation to store valuable resources for its members. It looks pretty much like any other website.
For education, Emmlink will be a valuable online space which gives students & parents access to collaborative, interactive digital resources that will cover topics covered in classes.Parents will have access to their child’s timetable and results for assessment tasks.

Emmlink is also a portal. The portal function of Emmlink provides parents and students with up to date information on timetables, college news and events.

In 2017, Emmlink was introduced to the college community. All parents were provided with information regarding Username & password for access. All Year 11 classes were part of the pilot program for Continuous Reporting.

In 2018,  the use of Emmlink for Continuous Reporting across all classes was introduced. The traditional summative report at the end of each semester was replaced by this online reporting system.

The focus of Continuous Reporting is to provide immediate, targeted feedback to students around the time of submission of major assessment tasks. Teachers will upload marks, results and suggestions for improvement continuously throughout the year, encouraging students to take on the advice provided.

Student self-reflection is another dimension which adds introspective learning opportunities within the Continuous Reporting system.
