Dear Parents and Students

You are invited to attend the Years 9, 10 & 11 2020 Subject Selection Expo to be held on Wednesday July 31, 2019.

This Expo is an opportunity for all information regarding subjects for 2020 to be shared on one night for the convenience of our families.

At this meeting detailed information will be given related to the curriculum and the elective structure for Years 9, 10 and 11 in 2020, including the core and elective learning. The formal part of the evening involves Information Sessions at various times for each year level in the Tony Frizza Stadium. Elective displays will be open in the Galilee Centre between 5pm and 8.30pm and parents are strongly encouraged to view these displays and discuss choices and options with staff from 5pm. These displays will take place on both levels of the Galilee Centre and information will be available on arrival.

There will also be a VCAL Information Session at 6.15pm which will be repeated at 7.50pm (immediately following the Year 11 2020 Information Session) in GC5 in the Galilee Centre Lecture Theatre for interested current Year 10 students and parents.

It is important for each student and parent to attend this evening. The subject information for Years 9, 10 and 11 2020 will be available on the College Website. Clear and detailed information will be given about the process of selecting electives at the Information Sessions and from the various Learning Areas.

The subject selection process is online. It is a platform called Web Preferences. Your son/daughter will be emailed their login details and a personalised link to Web Preferences through their school email. By following this link, they will find instructions on how to complete their selections and the subjects available to them. They will be able to enter their selections immediately and will have the ability to change these at any time within the subject selection period.

Whilst the link is sent to the student directly, it is important that there is discussion within each family about the subjects that are selected. At the completion of the online process there will be a prompt to print a confirmation receipt, listing the subjects that have been chosen. This receipt must be signed by both the student and a parent and returned to their Pastoral Teacher.
NB. Car parking will be restricted on this evening and there may be a need to park on Hawthorn Road.

Complimentary coffee will be available in the College Café, La Strada. The P & F Committee will also be running a sausage sizzle.
