Emmaus is a multi-campus K-12 Catholic Co-educational Regional College that opened in February 1980 through the amalgamation of St Thomas More College (1968-1979) and Chavoin College (1966-1979).
Bringing together St Timothy’s Primary and Holy Saviour Primary Schools, Emmaus College launched its Junior School on the site of the Holy Saviour Campus, consisting of Prep to Year 6, with a 3 and 4-year-old Kindergarten run by MACSEYE located within the same grounds.
Opening of the Emmaus VR Lab an immersive learning space. With Virtual and augmented reality experiences to empower students to put theory into practice, enabling them to hone their problem-solving skills and create solutions for real world problems.

2021- Present
Prior to Emmaus College, Karen was Principal at Genazzano FCJ College for five years and Principal at Our Lady of Sion College for 11 years.
Karen has been guiding the College through the most signifiant change since Emmaus formed. Seeing the completion of the Marian Building, VR LAB, and the establishment of the Emmaus K-6 Junior Campus and new Y9@E Campus coming in 2026.

Mr Hirst guided the school through a period of great change, especially with the reorganisation of campus structure with Year 11-12 students moving to Vermont South and Year 9 to Burwood in 2012 (and the innovative and successful Y9@E program).

Mr Frizza was keen for students to have a greater involvement in school life. Student leadership structures changed at both campuses, with these leaders initiating what are now considered school traditions, such as Emmaus Idol (now Emmaus Has Talent), Emmaus Day and the many Sheely Challenges.

1982 - 2001
The school was also without a Principal throughout 1981, with Mr James Fabris taking over at the start of 1982. For the next 20 years, Mr Fabris left a definite mark on the school and slowly but surely the reputation and academic results improved to the point of Emmaus being the number one co-educational Catholic school in Victoria.
There were many challenges with the the merger of two single sex schools into one school but two campuses, with the most unexpected being the infamous fire in January 1981. Just before the start of the school year, fire tore through the upper levels of what is currently the Senior Campus.
Many students were relocated to an empty Jewish school in Wantirna South, where the current Knox College is located. Others were educated in portable classrooms until the upper floor was eventually rebuilt.
Founding Principal - Mr Cyril Drew
1980 - 1981
Mr Cyril Drew was appointed the first Principal and Emmaus College opened in 1980. The merger of two single sex schools into one school but two campuses, located some nine kilometres apart was never going to be an easy process.
