Karen Jebb

Karen commenced as Principal of Emmaus College in January 2021. She is a faith-filled, modern educational leader, nurturing students for 21st-century career opportunities, balanced by an innate sense of social responsibility and personal purpose.


Karen comes to Emmaus with an exemplary career as a Principal, with a long history of passionately promoting lifelong learning. Her teaching specialisations are mathematics, information technology, science and religious education. She has demonstrated significant talent in strategic planning, leadership, and team building and improved academic results during her long career in Catholic education.


Prior to Emmaus College, Karen was Principal at Genazzano FCJ College for five years and Principal at Our Lady of Sion College for 11 years. Before this, she was Deputy Principal – Learning and Teaching at MacKillop Catholic Regional College and began her teaching career at Santa Maria College. She is highly regarded within Catholic education as a progressive and innovative leader. Karen has led her school community to gain The Educators’ Most Innovative Schools Award 2019 and 2020, an Excellence Award for the Best Professional Learning Program 2020, as well as receiving an Excellence Award for Principal of the Year 2020.


Karen’s academic qualifications include a Masters in Education, Masters in Business Administration (Executive), Graduate Diploma in Theology, Graduate Diploma in Educational Administration, and a Bachelor of Science Education.
