Drama
Students study Drama as a core subject in Years 7-8 and as an elective from Years 9-12. From Year 7, we offer students challenging coursework in acting skills and stagecraft design. Media Studies (film) is part of the Year 8 curriculum, with drama and physical movement on offer in Years 9-10. A range of topics are covered, including stage presence, physicalisation skills, stagecraft (set, lighting, sound, make-up, costume, promotion and multimedia), performance styles and those skills needed for students wanting a head start in the industry. Emmaus is in a position to offer both Drama and Theatre Studies from Units 1-4 at the VCE level. All year levels perform to the public on regular occasions at our 11-12 Campus Hall, which is fitted out with modern and up-to-date computer technology.
